Sealants
Sealants are recommended to help prevent cavities in children. A sealant is a plastic coating that is applied to the chewing surface of pre-molars and molars. It fills the grooves and pits of the tooth's surface.
Applying a sealant is a quick and simple procedure which does not require any anaesthetic. If sealants are recommended, the patient will require a short visit with the hygienist to have the sealant applied. Sealants can be re-applied at any time, as long as there is no cavity in the tooth.
